Valea Plopului

Valea Plopului is a wonderful village situated somewhere in the North side of Prahova. Here,in this village,a priest has built a house for abandoned and abused children. Now,here live about 220 children aged between 1 and 18 or 19 years old and even mothers with young children.
The important thing from all this is that they are happy even if they don't have a family as we all have, they have friends here and people who care about them every day.
What can we do?We can help them with a lot of things from material things to a very simple thing like a visit. We can visit them and stay with them and even play with the youngest ones.It doesn't cost anything,it can just bring you a lot of satisfactions.

Handmade fair

There was a handmade fair in Ploiesti about one month ago.People from all around the country came here to sell their craft items. You could find there things like jewelry, wood crafts, ceramics, clothes and others, but also antiques.
I found their products very interesting, but what impressed me most was a gipsy craftsman who was making jewelry melting small pieces of silver and using ordinary tools as hammer or chisel. He was using also gems like Amethyst,Quarz,Jaspin and others.
I think it was the first fair of this type in Ploiesti, but it was very interesting for those who are interested in handmade things.

Parga

Parga....?!What's Parga?
I know you haven't heard about it,but me neither, this before i have been there.
It is a small town built on a hill above the sea level. The houses are not only on the hill, but also in the harbour, thing that gives them a unique style.Parga is known by tourists for its Venetian Citadel, but also,as I could see in the postcards, for the church situated on a small island in the middle of the gulf.
Another specific thing of the Greek cities, that you'll can find here, besides the aranjament of the buildings,is the Italian style, with its norrow streets and lots of souvenir shops.
I think that many of you will be interested in the sea sports that can be done there, like diving, kitesurfing, jet sky or sea parachuting

Blue Lagoon

Have you ever heard about Blue Lagoon? The movie? This place is known as Blue Lagoon, but I don't think it is the place where the movie was made and this beacause the beach is too short and there is not a forest behind, there is just a stone wall.Even if it is not the place from the movie,it is a very nice place, with sandy beach, green and warm water.

Vikos Gorge

Vikos Gorge is situated in Pindus Mountains of North-West of Greece. It is considered the world deepest cannyon, with 900 m deep and 1100 m between its rims. The gorge is the heart of Vikos-Aoos National Park,in the area known as Zagori. It is an important place for its ecosystem and for the specific villages called Zagori. They are villages made from stone, something specific for this part of Greece.

Ioannina,the heart of Epirus

A beautiful place in the north-west of Greece at about 600 metres above the sea level. The city has a special style seemed more like with the Italian's cities with narrow streets and lots of places where you can eat or drink beer, juice or coffee. With the coffee is a long story in Greece. The coffee houses are the places where the men come to drink a coffee and talk, and this for about two or three hours. They consider it a traditional place where men come to talk about personal problems, politics, business and others. For a tourist, this is the perfect place where you can see the real life of Greeks.Although Ioannina is a small city,it has a lot of interesting places to visit. For exemple the Pamvotis lake, where you can make a short excursion to the island. You can visit the mosque of Aslan Pasha or you can go for a walk in the castle, along the old streets and up to the citadel, from where you can see the whole city and the lake. The specific of Ioannina is the silverwork, you can found many shops with silver jewelry, decorative objects and others.
